Session Type: Oral

Sociology has a critical role to play in studies in political economy, or what macro-comparative sociologists might call instead “economic sociology”. This session calls on comparative social scientists to bring sociological approaches to the study of public opinion (mass preferences, policy preferences, public mood), policy (social policy, public policy, political outcomes) and/or social inequality (income, wealth, group-based inequalities). The session is open to studies focusing on just one, two or all three concepts, and specifically calls for cross-country comparisons. Any methodological approaches are welcome and papers that are purely mathematical or theoretical are also welcome.
