Session Type: Oral

Dorothy Smith used the metaphor of a patchwork quilt to describe the way IE investigations in different empirical areas connect up and contribute to an expanding knowledge of contemporary (and historical) institutional relations. This session will feature IE research that adds new patches to this collective quilt through (a) investigations of emergent institutional relations and new modes of knowledge or (b) explorations of institutional practice and experience not previously a focus in IE.
