WG06 Institutional Ethnography (host committee)

Language: English, French and Spanish

Session Type: Oral

Investigations into the social organization of knowledge start from a standpoint in the everyday world, including that of the researcher; in that Institutional Ethnography differs from the theoretical starting point of many other sociologies of knowledge. This session is dedicated to empirical studies and/or theoretical discussions of the social organization of knowledge; that is, how activities and work in specific locations are part of particular social relations and shaped in ideological practice. The session welcomes work on a broad range of topical concerns, and encourages work-in-progress submissions. Graduate students and early stage researchers are very much encouraged to submit.
