RC56 Open Session 1

The Open Session is at the same time an open invitation for papers with a historical sociology bent that do not fit the thematic focus of the other sessions of RC56, but deal with topics that are of interest to historical sociologists or that otherwise rarely find their way into historical sociological debates. Possible examples are the role of religions in the history of colonialism, the rise of authoritarian regimes in the Global South prompted by Global South interventions or military coups, or rethinking the canon of historical sociology in light of entanglements of religions, politics and economies.
