The rapid and unprecedented upheaval in our socio-ecological systems has upended many pre-existing assumptions regarding sustainability, progress, and wellbeing, among other things. As we seek to grapple with what some have referred to as an existential crisis, old understandings of socio-ecological systems have been questioned, and new ones introduced. In this session, presenters will offer a diversity of perspectives that will enable sociologists to re-conceptualize socio ecological systems in an era of climate change.
