Irrespective of how power structures exploit, harass, or precaritize labor, scholars of labor and work have shown how labor resists and organizes. This session invites a discussion on the lifeworld of such labor. It is not enough to understand capital makes labor precarious; we must explore how labor creates lifeworld. The session explores how workers see possibilities and potentialities within their lifeworld which do not simply resist but form other forms of social relationships. Focusing on the subjectivities that emerge through entanglements with precarity, the session provides a vivid and multifaceted account of the lifeworld of precarious labor.
