This is an open panel for papers broadly dealing with social policy issues and recent changes in global social policy in the post-pandemic world and the increasingly authoritarian context in advanced democracies (OECD). Proposals may deal more specifically with any of the following topics: income-maintenance programs, health care, poverty and social exclusion, unemployment and labour market policies, care work, democracy and social citizenship, “race” and ethnicity, gender, generation, family policy, economic and social development, social policy regimes as well as non-governmental organisations (NGOs), social movements, other forms of mobilization (individual or collective), transnational actors, the political use of social protection by authoritarian regimes, and the tensions and potential collaboration between non-extreme religious movements and social protection activism.
