Youth, Young Adults and Stratification

This session includes papers that look into the issues of stratification and inequality related youth and young adults. Across diverse topics such as transition to adulthood, educational outcomes, socioeconomic attainment, and migration, this session features studies showing how youth and young adults experience inequality in their lives. Across the globe, growing concerns highlight challenges that recent youth and young adults face in globalization, economic changes, and cultural changes. As transition experiences of youth and young adults are stratified, studies in this session have important implications for understanding intergenerational transmission of advantages and disadvantages across generations.
