Language: English and French

Session Type: Oral

Socioeconomic transitions are foundational to climate change adaptation and mitigation goals, but the present moment requires more than technological transformations. Socioeconomic and structural transitions are entangled in uncertain geopolitics, injustices, environmental change, and development efforts, raising the stakes for research on systemic socioeconomic changes. Socioeconomic transitions aim to create a paradigm-shifting, a new analytical framework of change, one that transcends disciplinary conceptual boundaries to hold the social and the economic together theoretically and methodologically. The session invites abstracts from different geographical regions that want to tackle this topic. Empirical studies should be based on field work and describe the theoretical approach, focusing on economic and social topics. In particular, abstracts tackling the Social and Solidarity Economy are welcome.
