Under the influence of globalization and the hybridization of reality, the familiar ideological constructs of the twentieth century are increasingly being reshuffled into various temporary and unstructured combinations, driven by the so-called "The Great Unsettling" (Steger, James), which influences the value dimension of democracies and other political regimes globally, as can be observed in different regions and countries.

Moreover, in some cases, the dominant actors in the construction of ideological concepts are various civil society institutions and parties competing with each other; in others, state institutions; and in still others, religious organizations. Ideology, however, retains its functions of differentiation, on the one hand, and the integration/consolidation of social groups, on the other.

Ideological shifts in public consciousness also transform party-political systems, which is most clearly manifested in transitional regimes, where democratic norms and practices are rejected or imitated.

To understand the prospects and dynamics of political development at local, regional and national level, especially in crisis conditions of global uncertainty, it seems productive to study issues related to the ideologies, to the mechanism of legitimation and justification of political conflicts and political violence based on social, cultural and historical grounds.
