RC51 Sociocybernetics (host committee)
Language: English
Session Type: Oral
In this session, an inquiring look is directed towards the future of our world, humankind, and universe. The current developments in various parts of the world as well as in space are causing anxiety and worry. Sociological attention and insightful analysis as guidance for how to handle situations at hand are needed. Even though targeting energy to these is necessary, it is equally important not to distract attention of the questions of possible futures. This session encourages active scholars to share some of their time, capabilities and observations to questions of future.
How can we explore alternative futures to work for better tomorrow? In this endeavor, what kind of wisdom can be drawn from the history of sociocybernetics? What can we learn from the old classics of the field? What kind of enrichment can sociocybernetic studies gain from other research streams?
This session welcomes discussion openings as well as theoretical and empirical studies focusing on the theme.
