Language: English
Session Type: Oral
The contemporary world is witnessing an unprecedented rise in armed conflicts, political violence, humanitarian crises, and large-scale displacement of populations. War and violence not only threaten international peace and security but also result in severe violations of fundamental human rights, including the rights to life, dignity, health, food, shelter, and freedom. In an increasingly interconnected world, the consequences of conflicts transcend national boundaries, affecting global stability, economic development, environmental sustainability.
This theme seeks to provide an interdisciplinary platform for scholars, researchers, policymakers, human rights activists, and civil society organizations to critically examine the complex relationship between war, violence, and human rights. It aims to explore the causes and consequences of contemporary conflicts, the role of state and non-state actors, refugee and displacement crises, gendered experiences of violence, humanitarian interventions, and mechanisms for conflict resolution and peacebuilding.
