WG04 Sociology of Risk and Uncertainty (host committee)
Language: English
Session Type: Oral
In an era of turbulent times marked by interconnected crises—including climate change, pandemics, armed conflicts, economic instability, technological disruptions, and environmental disasters—understanding how people perceive and respond to risks has become increasingly important.
This session welcomes methodological and empirical contributions that employ cross-national, cross-cultural, or longitudinal comparative approaches to advance the sociological study of risk perception in polycrises and its implications for risk governance, communication, and policy responses.
