Session Type: Poster
Important developments of law took place after World War II as part of efforts to reestablish peace and to prevent war. Among those developments are the institutionalization of international mechanisms aiming at guaranteeing human rights, and the setting up of a system of international organizations in charge of the production and implementation of international law. One aspect of the current turbulent times is that these developments are challenged by several dominant geopolitical players. This raises new questions about the conditions of creation and of practice of the law, and requires us to reassess the possible role of law in the construction of a world society, as well as, within the borders of national states, in the quest of social and environmental justice. The purpose of this poster session is to open a space for the presentation of socio-legal research projects tackling such questions, or otherwise contributing to the reflection about the current times.
