The theme of my paper is designed to reflect the transformation of political values of the local political class in Russia and its new role in contemporary policy. The new role of political values in contemporary policy could be seen in many countries. I am interested to research the attitudes of Russian people to democracy, social movements & parties, human rights, haw they see the “special Russian path”, what they think about the political development in Russia. On the one hand political values play the most effective & important role in transformation of political culture. The knowledge of political values & the choice by each political actor of its own model of political culture is a necessary condition of its political socialization On the other hand political values may impose a new model of political life & political design at local & national levels. For example the change of the attitudes of the local political class to the protest movements & the opposite parties could essentially influence the political situation in the regions. The unification of political values of different social strata and political levels creates a new cultural infrastructure decreasing gap in quality of politics in various regions of the country. It’s difficult to over-estimate the importance of such unifying ideas in political culture of the local political class of Russia. My paper describes & analyses the evolution of political values & their contribution to democratic policy making in interrelations with political situation in Russia in times of globalization.

The main goal of my research is studying correlation between political values and political situation. This subject was evaluated on theoretical & empirical backgrounds. My paper analyses how the transformation of political values influences political situation in Russia. It’s a case study with using data from different surveys.
