Introduction

Aging is a series of transition that begins with life and continues throughout the life cycle. It is influenced by the biological as well as the sociological and cultural factors. A successful person with his aging learns to maintain a good balance between these factors.

Successful aging is something beyond health and longevity. The term successful aging appears paradoxical, as traditionally aging brings to mind, images of loss, decline and ultimate death, where as success is represented by achievement.

  • To study the factors those cause these problems.

  • To find out the consequences of successful aging.

Conclusion

Healthy is not only related to the advances in medical technology but also related to the interaction of a wide range of social factors such as maintaining and enhancing physical and cognitive functions, being fully involved in the society, leading a stimulating and productive life, living in a stable environment and having meaningful personal relationships. Lastly according to Sir James Sterling Ross, ‘You do not heal old age. You protect it, you promote it, and you extend it’.
