Monday, 11 July 2016: 16:00-17:30
Location: Hörsaal 12 (Juridicum)

Language: English

Societies are constantly changing either as a result of planned change or under the influence of various forces like economic crises, social unrest, external threats, internal conflicts and even natural disasters. Systems of social indicators must answer new challenges and capture new realities, while encompassing different citizens concerns. Whereas research efforts in the field of quality of life focus on measuring change in the various realms of life, they also concentrate on employing new theoretical and methodological perspectives, creating new measures and updating existing indicators. This section aims to bring together presentations of various practices in quality of life research around the world. We welcome papers on measuring quality of life in transitional societies from their own perspective, presentations of national experiences in mapping quality of life domains and indicators, of novel indices of quality of life as well as portrayals of indicators measuring quality of life at community level.
