  • Increasing number of young boys and girsl joining radical/terrorist groups. Not only in areas of conflict, but also in the west.
  • Power of social media in recruiting the young ones.
  • The need to use hard and soft approaches in fighting terrorism and radicalization. While most of the governments’ effort focus on the security level. More efforts are needed on the prevention and the discourse side.
  • UNSCR 1325 is a main milestone in including women in the efforts of peace building ,2242 on the importance of including women and youth in government efforts to fight terrorism.
  • What is missing is an undersatnding of the different roles played by women (productive, reproductive and community).
  • we argue in this paper that mothers can detect the behavioral changes happening to their kids and other members in the family. Thus, this role needs to be understood, evaluated and strengthened through investigating different case studies
