In line with the sociological debate on the relationship between love and justice, the article explores the phenomenological possibility of a ‘contamination’ between these two ‘regimes of action’ (Boltanki 1990) through educational activities. Focusing on restorative justice and on a specific instrument introduced by the recent Cartabia reform in Italy, the article highlights how the restorative perspective creates an educational ‘space’ oriented towards the reparation of a crime and the reconstruction of social ties, beyond a logic based on equivalence, which takes on traits of 'social love' (Iorio 2015; Cataldi, Iorio 2023). Thanks to the ‘’overabundance‘’ of ‘social love’ , legal action inspired by the reparative perspective becomes an educational action that can transform social actors and their cultural and emotional background.
