In today's fast-paced world, the importance of mindful leisure practices is becoming increasingly recognized for their role in promoting both health and happiness. This study explores the impact of mindful leisure on individuals in India, focusing on how engaging in activities like meditation, yoga, nature walks, and traditional arts can lead to better physical and mental well-being. Mindful leisure is characterized by activities that encourage a state of awareness and relaxation, offering a reprieve from the stress and demands of daily life.

Using a combination of quantitative surveys and in-depth interviews, this research examines the experiences of participants across various regions of India, exploring how cultural, social, and economic factors influence the practice of mindful leisure. The findings reveal that individuals who consistently engage in these practices experience reduced levels of stress, anxiety, and physical ailments, while also reporting enhanced emotional resilience, greater life satisfaction, and stronger social connections. The study highlights the growing trend of mindful leisure among both urban and rural populations, showing its adaptability to different lifestyles and environments.

Additionally, this paper discusses how traditional Indian practices, such as yoga and meditation, which have long been integral to Indian culture, are now being recognized globally for their health benefits. It emphasizes the potential for incorporating mindful leisure into public health strategies and community programs to improve overall well-being across diverse population groups in India.
