India’s G-20 Presidency: New Way of Global Diplomacy through New Media

Group of 20 or G-20 comprises of nineteen countries along with European Union (EU) and African Union (AU). This organization has been constituted to address major economic, environmental, climate change and sustainable development issues at the global level. Its one of the major roles was to establish the harmony between the developed and underdeveloped countries around the globe. This role was well explained and defended by the organization under the G-20 presidency of India. India as a country is one of the most diverse and an integral part of this organization. The researcher has tried to elaborate the significance of new media in the successful organization of the G-20 summit in the year 2023. New media is emerging technology in the field of communication which includes AI, VR, AR, digital media, podcasts and blogging. This paper seeks the importance of the new media specifically, AI, in the third world through qualitative content analysis to cope-up with the future challenges like financial crisis and global warming issues. Researcher has tried to understand India’s strategy to shape the new way of global diplomacy through new media under their period of G-20 presidency. For this, online questionnaire based cross sectional survey method has been used to collect the data from the participants of different societal background. Further, in the conclusion, the researcher has given some findings that establishes the relation between the global diplomacy and new media. Finally, the paper suggests that the use of new media tools like AI should be prioritize under the surveillance of diplomats at the global level to establish the harmony in international relations.
