Telangana's socio-cultural history is marked by a rich cultural heritage and a variety of rulers and dynasties, including the Satavahana, Kakatiya, Qutb Shahi, Asaf Jahi, and Nizam dynasties. The Indian state of Telangana has a vast cultural history. The region emerged as the foremost centre of culture in Indian subcontinent during the rule of Hindu Kakatiya dynasty and the Muslim Qutb Shahi and Asaf Jahi dynasties— (also known as the Nizams of Hyderabad). As the 20th century began, the land holdings and production relations in the erstwhile Nizam dominion had become feudal. Ironically, efforts of reforms in the land tenure and revenue system resulted in more cruel and exploitative forms of feudalism. Srikrishna Committee on the Situation in erstwhile States for Andhra and Telangana (2010), which the government of India constituted during the bifurcation of erstwhile States, gives the basic understanding of population shares of sociocultural communities in the state.

Social Transformations and Development focuses on the need to “put people first” in development processes. Poverty is more than low income – it is also about vulnerability, exclusion, unaccountable institutions, powerlessness, and exposure to violence. In Telangana State the Social Transformations and Development promotes social inclusion of the poor and vulnerable by empowering people, building cohesive and resilient societies, and making institutions accessible and accountable to citizens. During the movement of Telangana the Water, resources, and employment are the key points of the public movement. Empirical evidence and operational experience show that Social Development promotes economic growth and leads to better interventions and a higher quality of life. This paper promotes the how social transformation and development was happened in the Telangana State after its formation in the year 2014 in terms of its institutions, governance, employment, water and agricultural resources.
