“Theater As an Educational Tool in the Anthropocene Era

The importance of art and especially theatre as a tool and not solely as subject in the curriculum of educational systems is recognized in many countries around the world..The UN Declaration of Human Rights considers art as a cultural right and also a part of education. Theatre is an essential tool for education because it develops significant life , personality and communication skills such as intuition, creativity ,sensitivity, etc and it can also be a mechanism for the socialization of the individual. Our presentation will refer to the theories which analyze the necessity of drama and theatre in educational systems, especially in primary education level.

Main issue of our presentation will be the practice of the theatrical education as an educational tool and a new approach during to the study of theater and the practice of theatrical ways during the Anthropocene era.Criticism and debates about how the theater can contribute to the analysis and thinking of the Anthropocene will be presented.
