determining subjective meaning associated with materiality, which is further broadened by a collective philosophy and approach in enhancing opportunities and social choices. Given that global demographics indicate a youth bulge, the focus of the study is to promote marginal young people's agency and their development with reference to the Global South. The loci of the study include India and South Africa, to secure scientific integrity vis-a-vis Global South representation. The methodology will break from data gathering through intermediate instruments and dislocated sub-researchers. Country teams, well-schooled in collaborative and relationship capabilities will be engaged to foster transdisciplinary research. The subjects of the study are co-partners at enlightening the research and its techniques. Methods will be developed consultatively to include different interests interested in young people of the Global South. Accordingly, there shall be two sets of knowledge sources contributing to the study, i.e. young people themselves; and societal interests, represented by government, civil society, mainstream and social media, and selected private sector bodies. Non-academic partners (youth organizations/non-governmental organizations) are included in the study in the spirit of trans-sectoral research geared towards collaborative knowledge generation and co-learning. The goal of the study is to locate marginal young people of the Global South at the thresholds of social, economic, political, and cultural opportunities which presents vis-a-vis unequal technological advancements, the constraints of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the advent of the 4th industrial revolution.
