Artificial Intelligence (AI) promises to revolutionise leisure experiences, yet it also raises significant social justice implications. AI has the potential to bridge accessibility gaps through tailored, personalised experiences catering to diverse needs. Consider, for instance, AI-powered travel guides designed for individuals with disabilities or using AI tutors to acquire new skills. However, formidable challenges loom on the horizon. Algorithmic bias could lead to the exclusion of particular demographic groups, while the digital divide may restrict access. Moreover, the adoption of costly AI-driven experiences could intensify social inequalities.

For the realisation of an equitable future of leisure enhanced by AI, it is imperative to prioritise ethical development and emphasise universal access. The promotion of human interaction and well-being should be central to these efforts. Regulatory frameworks are poised to play a pivotal role in ensuring responsible AI deployment, while the advancement of digital literacy can empower informed societal participation. By addressing these concerns, AI stands to enable a future characterised by inclusive, accessible, and enriching leisure experiences for all.

This session invites scholars to write abstracts and research papers to provide further insights into the role of AI in promoting leisure activities and addressing social justice by investigating aspects of this relationship.
