Location: FSE007 (Faculty of Education Sciences (FSE))
RC55 Social Indicators (host committee)

Language: English

Social indicators and quality of life research have become well-established fields of social science. Nevertheless, with the development of new technologies and ever-changing social, political, and environmental conditions, new opportunities and challenges to monitoring individual and collective well-being have emerged. These challenges and opportunities include conceptualizations of well-being, methods of data collection, data processing, analysis, and reporting. This session invites studies that discuss these issues, considering but not limited to, the following topics.

  1. Applications of computational social sciences to measure well-being
  2. AI tools for measuring well-being
  3. Weighting and aggregation of well-being dimensions
  4. New conceptualizations of well-being
  5. Assessing subjective well-being through social media data
  6. Innovations in data collection and analysis for well-being research.

Both theoretical and empirical papers, as well as those with a methodological focus or practical applications, are welcome. We encourage submissions that offer new insights or innovative approaches to the measurement and understanding of well-being in contemporary society.
