Several studies have observed a syndrome of value change among different cultures during the last decades. This project investigated whether these changes were also followed by changes in individual attitudes regarding the role of the state. Using data from the World Values Survey,  we demonstrate that those attitudes are linked to more profound cultural aspects of these societies and also tend to change. Considering some evidences about the relationship between political culture and the political system we focus, then, on the political consequences of these changes in attitudes and how they can already be perceived today.
