This paper provides a critique of the BRiCS (Brasil, Russia, India,China, South Africa) developmental accord  of 2013 and challenges the distributional and equity regimes it promises. B It also distills from the social movements of Africa and their Southern compeers a set of grounded theoretical and praxis-linked alternatives that are beginning to challenge existing social powers
