In recent years, network popular words have become an useful tool of the expression of the public opinion. This artical analyzes the formation of network popular words in the perspective of social participation and interaction through connecting the buzzwords to  the related social events. The writer attempts to illustrate that the new media such as micro-blog in China provide a more attractive and equal platform to the public and with the absence of physical proximity it creates a new form of equality to the political expression and social empowerment.
