Exiting Violence : Levels and Temporalities

Exiting violence is becoming a domain in academic research, and not only a practical issue. But is it possible to integrate in a one single field perspectives that could become contradictory when one consider different levels, from the more individual dimensions, to the more general and global ones, and when one takes into consideration different temporalities, from short terme or contemporary perspectives to long term ones ?
