Poverty and Inequality: Can Conditional Cash Transfers Programmes Alliviate Them?

The main elements of Conditional Cash Transfer Programmes and their effects in the reduction of poverty and inequality will be analyzed. In the case of Mexico, the Programme “Oportunidades” changed its name to “Prospera”; both will be examined along with their substantial changes. In addition, the main results of “Cruzada sin Hambre”, the programme orchestrated in Mexico in 2013, will be analyzed. This programme focuses on extremely poor people.
