This autoethnographic reflection explores the challenges of managing personal health during wartime, framed through Annemarie Mol’s Logic of Care. The author, who has been living in Kyiv during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, reflects on the impact of war on healthcare access while addressing his experiences with knee arthrosis and myopia. Using Mol’s three logics - force, choice, and care - the author examines how his perception of self-care evolved over time, shifting from a goal-oriented approach to one that integrates chronic care as a norm. The war in Ukraine disrupted regular access to healthcare, amplifying the importance of adaptive care strategies and infrastructural dependence. This reflection underscores the resilience needed to navigate health management during crises.
