This work aims to study the change identified in the women’s participation in Brazilian politics in what concern the high positions of state burocracy. Specifically, it will be emphasize the kind of change’s patterns followed in what regards women political appointees by two different governments in Brazil, such as, Fernando Henrique Cardoso (FHC), Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. This study uses the social-democracy theory to analyse the social sphere as main focus of public politics and reforms, as well as to consider it as a movement of women’s inclusion in politics and a redefinition of their role. Due to cultural history of women’s inferior role in the Brazilian society, the observation of these factors might signify a relatively change in the participation patterns.
